2 Recitals and a birthday

WOW! I can't believe that it's already been about a month since my last post--sorry ya'll.

Meghan and Haley started taking piano again in March, and they absolutely love it. We recently had a recital where they got to perform their pieces along with some other students.
2 days after their piano recital, we had their dance recital. Meghan had a solo part in her tap dance to the song "Fabulous" from High School Musical II. Haley had a tap and a ballet piece. They both did GREAT!!
May 30 was Caitlyn's 1st birthday. It just so happened that we were at Rachel's home in Houston around that time, so we decided to celebrate it there. She had a hayday with the cupcake as you can see. I think she looks cute with a little goatee.

Why is this girl so happy?

Yep, it's the end of the school year and she gets to have her sisters home all day. Sadie always got so excited when she saw the bus, she'd run out to TRY and give Meghan and Haley a hug.O.K. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm really behind on my pictures, but some of them are just so darn cute that I can't bypass them--so I apologize again for having to rewind some of the year.

The Garden--Take 2

O.K. I know it wasn't long ago that I posted about our garden, but I happened to go out there today to check for strawberries, and I found some. Thank goodness we finally covered them in netting to keep the birds out!
(Strawberries)
I also noticed that all the plants had grown a couple of inches since I last wrote, so I thought I would take a few more pictures.
(Zuchinni)
I also noticed while I was out there that there were quite a few weeds that had also grown a few inches (Darn it!).
(watermelon-this is 1 plant)
Well when all was said and done, I thought it looked A LOT better, even though I was DRENCHED (literally) in sweat--it was a very humid day--and a little sunburned.

Yea,

We're finally potty trained!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It took many m&m's, and lots of praise and coaxing--but we finally made it.

Sadie absolutely loves to get dressed up, anytime we're going out, or even just around the house she HAS to be wearing a dress-up dress and her sparklie black shoes. We get lots of comments, I'm not sure she really understands why though. She just thinks it's normal.

The Garden

Here is Meghan and Haley in our soon to be garden (the before picture)
Not too long after, we have the beginnings of zuchinni. . .
Some potatoes (these are so fun to plant, because all you have to do is cut up some old potatoes that have 2-3 eyes per piece that you cut, go and bury them, and in about a week and 1/2 you have plants already growing--great if you have little patience, and like to see progress quickly). These had been growing for maybe 3 weeks.
watermelons, tomatoes and strawberries. So far, we've had many strawberries ripen up, but unfortunately the birds kept getting them. We finally went and got some bird netting to cover them. It's great fun to watch the flock of birds come and sit on the fence trying to determine just how they are going to get to the strawberries. This plant is actually one of the smaller ones, but when I took this picture, the birds had already eaten several of the other RIPE strawberries, so this was the only one left.

Easter

O.K. I know I'm still playing catch-up. Maybe I'll get caught up soon. Anyways, we had a little egg hunt throughout the house.

The girls made out like bandits this year!

More Spring Break

The girls and I took a day to go to the zoo during spring break. They love the little petting zoo, as well as eating lunch real close to the animals (if you can see behind Sadie and Meghan is a giraffe).

The elephants were just down below where we ate lunch.

Belated Spring Break

During the girls spring break (yea, I know I'm a little behind) we decided to go to the Discovery Science Place, which is basically a hands on fun place.
I have lots of pictures of them there, so I might have to make a continued post later on.
Meghan got to play with HUGE bubbles.

They really had so much fun, and Caitlyn and I had fun chasing them down trying to get lots of pictures.
