Is that a baby?

So I've had several little kids ask me if I was going to have a baby. Just to be silly, and to see their reactions, I've told them "no, this is where I keep my basketball". The expressions were priceless.

I seem to carry really low during all of my pregnancies, and this one doesn't seem any different. In fact I think that since I carry so low that some people don't even realize I'm pregnant until 8 or 9 months along. I know that sounds crazy, but I've had many people say "wow, I didn't know you were pregnant", and these are people that I see all the time.

Anyways, I don't really like my picture to be taken during this time of pregnancy, but I feel an obligation to my unborn to let them know how I looked while I was carrying them. I also feel an obligation to all my family that never gets to see me (mom, this one's for you--just in case you don't see me before I have this baby). Haley took these pictures for me.

WHAT, that's so GROSS!!

Isn't this such a sweet little girl?

Well, that's what I thought until one day after her (supposed) nap. I've heard of this happening to other people, and I was so grateful that I made it through 3 girls without it ever happening to me. . .

After laying Caitlyn down for a nap and letting her talk in her bed for a good little while, I finally decided to go check on her to figure out why she wasn't going to sleep. She seemed good, nothing wrong, so I layed her down again and left.

Once again, after a good little while, she was still singing and talking to herself, but no sleep. Then out of the blue a scared cry "mommy, mommy". Well, I hustled in there, but as soon as I opened the door, I got a terrible waft of smelly air. Next, I tried to find the sweetie in bed, sure enough there she was, but with NO DIAPER on. Now I am scared. As I got closer, and to my horror, I see that this sweet little girl has taken off her "messy" diaper and discovered the contents by smooshing it with her hands. It was all over her hands, legs and even bed.
(her bed after I cleaned it up)

Well, at least she didn't like it on her hands anymore so I was happy of that, thinking that maybe this would be the last time she ever did this. After cleaning it all up, then I remembered to take pictures, sorry folks I'm sure you would've loved to have seen all that!

Needless to say, there was no nap that day. But, I now have a great story to tell. I still love you sweet little girl Caitlyn. There has been 2 other incidents since then where I've gone in to find her diaper off. Luckily it wasn't "messy".

Handwashing dishes?

Is it even heard of now-a-days to wash dishes by hand? Well, we have come to the point where there might be something wrong with our (electric) dishwasher, so we are washing dishes by hand.

I used to wash dishes all the time growing up, because we never had a dishwasher until I went to college. So, I thought what a great time to teach my girls what "FUN" it can be doing the dishes.

They actually enjoyed it, until about the 4th day or so, the important thing is they have had the experience and I can mark that one off of my "things to teach my girls" list.

Labor Day

This is Kiersten.

This is Kiersten playing dress up.

This is Eric and Meghan playing the Wii while Haley watches.

We just couldn't wait to get Uncle Cameron here so he could make some more root beer.

That's one happy camper!!

Sadie's Dance

Meghan & Haley have been in dance for several years now, but they decided to take a break this year.

Dance was all that Sadie talked about last year, and so we decided to let her have a try. We've tried before, but she wouldn't stay in the class by herself.

This year, she has a little friend in the class, and we're just going with the YMCA (just in case she didn't really like it) it's only 8 weeks and it was pretty cheap (GO YMCA!!).

She LOVES it, and they do tap, ballet and tumbling, so she has a blast. Hopefully, she won't be too disappointed when it's over.

Sprayground fun

Sadie and Caitlyn got to go to the Sprayground for a birthday party.

Even though they don't enjoy getting really wet, they still had fun. There was also a playground there, so we had fun in the swings.

This was us when it was time to leave.

Rub-a-Dub. . .Four Girls and other Tales

O.K. so our other swimming pool kept getting holes in it (we were so sad), so just to last the rest of the summer, we opted for a (dare I say) baby pool.

Obviously the girls don't really care the size, although it was more difficult for them to all play well in it.

The 1st day of school!

I asked them if they wanted me to take them on the 1st day, and they both said "no, we want to ride the bus".

Forts are FUN!
After getting all ready one morning, I came out to the family room to find this. . .

Sadie had made a fort and her and Caitlyn were having a grand time in it.
