Guess Who!!!

Let's play a guessing game shall we? Everywhere I go, people are always telling me how much my girls look alike. Well, after going through some old pictures, I now have a better understanding of where people are coming from. I had so much fun trying to guess who was who, that I thought it would be kinda fun for ya'll to have a try. I know it's going to be extra hard for you, especially those of you who have not seen us in a long, long time, but hey, who doesn't like a good challenge?

O.K. so have a try, and check your answers when your finished, at the bottom of the post, Good Luck!! Oh, and I guess this wouldn't be as much fun if there wasn't a prize involved. So, I guess the best prize I can give is a handwritten (or drawn) letter from me and my girls to the winner. Just leave me a COMMENT so that I know how many you got right, we're going by the HONOR CODE here!

Oh, and if you win, and I don't have your address for your prize, leave me an email address, or if you aren't already linked to my blog, your blog address, so I can send you your SPECIAL LETTER :)

Where's the Dress?

Wow, no more torn little purple and pink dress. I finally hid the little dress that Sadie used to wear (everyday--literally). And she discovered the fun in wearing a cute different little dress.
(NEW DRESS)

(OLD DRESS)
We'll see how long it lasts though, because every once in a while she'll ask, "where's my dress" and I play it off like she's asking for this one, but I know she's asking about the other one. Is it wrong to take advantage of her innocence? Oh, well, they don't stay young forever.

The Marshmallow Game

Brian thought of this clever idea of a game for FHE. We used marshmallows (instead of rocks) to show the girls what it was like to be a Prophet of the past (i.e. Samuel the Lamanite).

Each girl enthusiastically climbed onto the chair and then proclaimed to the rest of the family what we were supposed to be doing right. We then all got to throw marshmallows at the person on the chair--great fun!

As you can see though, it ended up with the true meaning of marshmallowism. We had fun learning about the prophets--good game honey! I guess that's what you get when there's only 1 boy in the family.

We Love To Dance!!

So, last year Meghan and Haley were taking dance, and everyday just about, Sadie would dress up in her (now worn out) little "dress" which as you can see she has now handed down to Caitlyn.

She would also go into Meghan's dance class and dance with her (thanks Miss Lorinda for understanding a 2 year old's mindframe).

Well, this year Sadie actually is old enough to start in dance classes. So, we started her in Aug., she took through Sept. and then we'd had enough. Yep, the little 3 year old who couldn't get enough of trying to be like the "big girls", had had enough. Every week she'd be so excited when it was dance day, but then when it came down to going into dance class, she'd cry and fuss.

I even threatened to take her NEW pretty dance dress back to the store--which had the reverse effect and actually made her fuss and cry even more. So, we decided it was not worth it. Oh, well. We'll try again next year--if she's up to it.
Oh, and don't worry, she got to keep the cute little dance dress, but now she doesn't even ask to wear it (maybe in fear that she'll have to go to class).

Wow, Are you really that OLD!!

It is sometimes hard for me to think that my sweet little baby is already 8 years old, but I just try not to remember that in 5 years she'll be a teenager and in another 8 she'll be driving (whoa, stop the crazy train--I want OFF!!).

We had a wonderful baptism for her on Oct. 3. She was baptized along with two other children (twins) because their baptism had been called off due to the hurricane, so I asked them to reschedule with us.

There was a BIG turnout, but we were most grateful to Rachel, Eric and Kiersten for coming and being there for Meghan, not to mention the blast that all the cousins had while they were here.

The other mom helped get things pulled together wonderfully, namely the program and she even had a cake made for Meghan (she also had one for her twins). We are so grateful that Meghan is such a responsible and righteous little girl. Congratulations Meghan!!

Yummy Mummie Dogs!

O.K. so I couldn't resist adding another recipe. These were just too cute, now how easy they are, I don't know because I haven't tried them yet. But I wanted to put them on right away in case anyone else wanted to use them for Halloween.

Ingredients
Rhodes™ Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
bun length hot dogs
mustard

For each Mummy Dog, cut one dinner roll in half. Roll each half into a 22-24-inch rope. Wrap one rope around hot dog from bottom up 4 1/2 inches. Cut a 1 1/2 inch piece off of the second rope and set aside. Wrap the second rope around the hot dog from the bottom up 4 1/2 inches going the opposite way. Wrap the 1 1/2 inch piece around the top of the hot dog.
Place mummy dogs on a sprayed baking sheet and bake at 350°F 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven, cool slightly and add mustard eyes. Serve warm with ketchup and mustard.
Still confused? I kinda was. YouTube has a video of how to do it. Check it out!

Meatball Calzone!! YUM!

O.K. The recipe for this week is the Meatball Calzone, or whatever kind of Calzone (we've recently done hamburger because we were all out of meatballs).

This Recipe comes from Dave Bremson
in Plantation, Florida

1 pkg. (12 oz) frozen fully cooked meatballs, thawed
2 cups Pizza sauce
1 cup (4 oz) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup Ricotta cheese (optional)
2 tbls. minced fresh basil
1 egg white (I usually forget to seperate them and it turns out fine)
2 tsp. water
1 pkg. (15 oz) refrigerated pie pastry
Additional pizza sauce, optional

Heat meatballs according to package directions. In a large saucepan, heat pizza sauce; stir in meatballs. In a small bowl, combine the cheeses and basil. In another bowl, whisk the egg white and water; set aside.

Unroll one pastry onto a greased 15-in. X 10-in. X 1-in. baking pan. Spoon half of meatball mixture onto half of the pastry to within 1/2 in. of the edges. Top with half of cheese mixture. Fold dough over the filling, forming a half circle. Moisten edges with water; press with a fork to seal. Brush top with egg mixture. Repeat with remaining pastry, meatball mixture and egg mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 min. or until golden brown. Cut each calzone into three wedges. Serve with additional pizza sauce if desired. Yield: 6 servings.
